NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt
Lester Holt is an award-winning journalist and anchor of "NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt," the network's flagship broadcast. Holt also leads NBC News’ special reports, breaking news, prime-time political coverage, and anchors “Dateline NBC,” which is currently in its 27th season.

Holt was named “NBC Nightly News” anchor in June 2015 after eight years as anchor of "NBC Nightly News" weekend editions and 12 years as co-anchor of "Weekend TODAY." In addition, Holt has served as principal anchor of "Dateline NBC" since September 2011.

Holt joined NBC News in 2000 and is known for his outstanding work in the field, reporting and anchoring from breaking news events across the globe. He has also been one of the leaders in reporting on the criminal justice system and the efforts to reform it. In 2016, Holt was selected to moderate the first presidential debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, which was the most-watched debate in American history.

Before becoming co-anchor of "Weekend TODAY” in 2003, Holt anchored "Lester Holt Live," a daily news show on MSNBC. Holt served as a primary anchor for MSNBC's coverage of major news events, including Operation Iraqi Freedom and the war in Afghanistan, and he was the lead daytime anchor for MSNBC's coverage of Decision 2000.

In 2018, Holt was awarded the Los Angeles Press Club’s Joseph M. Quinn Award for Lifetime Achievement, the Poynter Medal for Lifetime Achievement in Journalism, and the Sol Taishoff Award for Excellence in Journalism from the National Press Foundation. He was also named the most-trusted television news personality in America, according to the Hollywood Reporter/Morning Consult survey.

Armando Nuñez

Armando Nuñez is President and Chief Executive Officer for the CBS Global Distribution Group, and Chief Content Licensing Officer for CBS Corporation. He reports to Joe Ianniello, President and Acting Chief Executive Office, CBS Corporation.

As CBS’ top global executive, Nuñez oversees all content licensing of CBS-owned programming to domestic and international distribution partners across all platforms: cable, broadcast and streaming services. He is responsible for monetizing a growing portfolio of original content that airs on the CBS Television Network, The CW, CBS All Access, SHOWTIME and non-CBS platforms, as well as a library of more than 70,000 hours of programming. CBS Global Distribution Group has 15 offices worldwide.

In this role, Nunez also has oversight of CBS Television Distribution, which produces and distributes seven of the top 10 first-run shows in syndication, including industry-leading franchises such as ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT, DR. PHIL, INSIDE EDITION, RACHAEL RAY, WHEEL OF FORTUNE, JEOPARDY! and JUDGE JUDY.

Nuñez has led CBS’ international media business since 1999. He originally joined CBS as President of what was then CBS Broadcast International in July 1999 and assumed the additional title of Executive Vice President, CBS Enterprises in January 2000. He also led CBS’ combined domestic syndication and international operations from 2012-2016. For the past two years, he focused on CBS’ rapidly expanding international business as head of CBS Studios International, one of the biggest growth engines for the Company.

Under Nuñez’s supervision, CBS Studios International has grown to distribute a comprehensive slate of top-rated, critically acclaimed programming in every genre. The international operation licenses programming across all media platforms in more than 200 countries in more than 60 languages. The division manages 11 channel ventures covering 109 territories and supervises the Company’s ownership of Network 10 in Australia (which he was instrumental in helping acquire). It also focuses on international co-productions and local content production, and coordinates with CBS Interactive to support the Company’s global rollout of CBS All Access.

Nuñez has held senior leadership positions in international media for more than 25 years. Prior to joining CBS, he served as President, Universal International Television. From 1994 to 1997, Nuñez was President, New World International Television Distribution. From 1992 to 1994, Nuñez was Executive Vice President, International Sales, Viacom Entertainment.

Nuñez has been named to multiple “power” lists (including The Hollywood Reporter and Hispanic Business Magazine) as a major television influencer. Recently, he was named to Variety’s “Dealmakers” list for 2018. Most notably, he was one of the first recipients of the inaugural MIPTV Médaille d’Honneur, which recognized six international television executives, including his father, Armando Nuñez Sr., for their achievements in the industry. At the same time, Nuñez received the City of Cannes Gold Medal at Cannes City Hall in a ceremony hosted by Mayor Bernard Brochand.

Nuñez is a member of the board and co-chair of the global committee of NATPE International, as well a member of the board and executive committee of the International Council of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS). In addition, he is currently on the board of trustees of Fordham University and was formerly on the board of visitors of the George L. Graziadio School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University.

A native of New York, Nuñez graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing and management.

Susan Jin Davis

Susan Jin Davis, Chief Sustainability Officer, has over 25 years of experience in the communications, media, and technology industry. In her current position, Ms. Jin Davis is responsible for identifying sustainable strategies and priorities and for implementing the Company’s Sustainability Program across all of ComcastNBCU business units and functions.

Prior to her current role, Ms. Jin Davis was Senior Vice President of Operations Compliance and was responsible for implementing product policies, operationalizing regulatory and legal requirements, reducing costs to the cable business, and managing business compliance.

In 2011, Ms. Jin Davis negotiated a historic Memorandum of Understanding between Comcast and the Asian American community as part of the Company’s merger with NBC Universal that creates ground-breaking commitments in the areas of programming, supplier and employment diversity, and community investment. She serves on Comcast’s Internal Diversity Council and is a Company liaison to the Comcast and NBCUniversal Joint Diversity Council. She is an executive sponsor of Asian Pacific Americans at Comcast, a Company affinity group.

Ms. Jin Davis was also responsible for launching Comcast’s Internet Essentials Program in 2011. Internet Essentials offers low-cost Internet service, discounted computer equipment and free digital literacy training to families with at least one child eligible to participate in the National School Lunch Program. Internet Essentials is Comcast’s largest, most successful community investment initiative, having connected more than 6 million low income Americans to the power of the Internet in their homes.

Ms. Jin Davis has also been integrally involved in the Company’s approach to digital literacy, providing resources to customers on safe Internet use with particular emphasis on helping families understand the Internet and teaching children how to responsibly use Comcast’s services. She created and led the Company’s On-Line Safety Advisory Council, an external body of leaders in the area of on-line safety.

Ms. Jin Davis was recently recognized by Forbes as one of “Five Women of Color Who Should Be On Your Radar Screen.” She has completed the Women in Cable Telecommunications Senior Executive Summit at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business, the Women’s Executive Leadership Program at the Wharton School of Business, and CTAM’s Executive Management Program at the Harvard Business School. She received the 2010 Paragon Award of the National Association of Multi-Ethnicity in Cable and was a fellow in the Betsy Magness Leadership Institute of the Women in Cable Telecommunications. She has been named one of the “Most Powerful Women in Cable” by CableFAX and one of the “Top 50 Most Influential Minorities in Cable” by CableWorld for many years. Ms. Jin Davis is actively involved in Comcast’s diversity efforts, particularly as it relates to the Company’s relationship with the Asian American community. She serves as the Chair of the Board of the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies and is a director on the Boards of the Asian Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund, the Asian/Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce & Entrepreneurship, and the Juvenile Law Center. Ms. Jin Davis also serves on the Board of Trustees of Bryn Mawr College. She lives in Kennett Square, PA with her daughter, Sophia.

Tina Simmons

Tina Simmons, Senior Vice President of Human Resources, is responsible for leading all facets of human resources and organizational effectiveness for 30K employees in Comcast Cable’s Central Division and for all people-related functions including: compensation, diversity & inclusion, employee engagement, labor relations, employee communications, HR policy, performance management, talent acquisition, and talent management.

A graduate of Villanova University, Tina holds a bachelor’s degree in Business and went on to earn a Master of Science in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania. Her professional studies include completion of Comcast’s premier leadership development program – Executive Leadership Forum, the Harvard Business School/CTAM (Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing) Cable Executive Management Program and the Cornell University ILR School HR Strategy Executive Education programs. Tina is a national trustee on the South East Region Board of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. She serves on the Villanova School of Business Dean’s Advisory Council. Tina is a mentor for Women in Cable and Telecommunications (WICT) and also serves as a Chapter Advisor for the National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) – Atlanta Chapter. She is a member of the Pi Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Tina has frequently been recognized as one of the Most Influential Minorities in Cable and one of the Most Powerful Women in Cable by Cablefax Magazine. Tina is the 2005 winner of NAMIC’s Paragon Award and received WICT’s Liberty Award in 2006. In 2007, she became a Class XIV Fellow of the WICT Betsy Magness Leadership Institute. Tina was awarded the National Diversity Council’s “Most Powerful & Influential Women of Georgia” award in 2014 and the “Multicultural Leadership Award” in 2016. Finally, Tina was recognized among 2017’s “Who’s Who in Black Atlanta” by the Atlanta Tribune and received the NAMIC – Atlanta Chapter’s “Mae Douglas Mentoring” award in 2017. Tina resides in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband.

Dalila Wilson-Scott

Dalila Wilson-Scott serves as Senior Vice President of Community Impact for Comcast Corporation and as President of the Comcast Foundation. In this role, Dalila works collaboratively across Comcast NBCUniversal to provide strategic leadership throughout all aspects of the company’s community impact and corporate social responsibility initiatives. In addition, Dalila oversees efforts to leverage various assets, resources and platforms throughout the company to extend the reach and impact of philanthropic partnerships. In 2015, Comcast NBCUniversal and its foundations provided over $500 million in cash and in-kind support to nonprofit partners sharing Comcast’s commitment to improving communities. Comcast proactively seeks out ways to leverage the reach of its media and technology platforms to strengthen communities in meaningful ways.

Dalila joined Comcast in 2016 after more than 16 years at JPMorgan Chase & Co., where she most recently served as Head of Global Philanthropy and President of the JPMorgan Chase Foundation. She led the firm’s philanthropic initiatives, including employee engagement and volunteerism, while helping to set the company’s overall corporate responsibility strategy. JPMorgan doubled its grant-making portfolio under her leadership and launched groundbreaking private sector commitments to close the skills gap across the globe, spark FinTech innovation, promote economic equality, as well as significantly improve the lives of young men of color. Prior to joining the Office of Corporate Responsibility, she served in the firm’s Corporate Merger Office as an integral member of the team managing the integration of JPMorgan Chase and Bank One. Before this role, she was a Senior Strategic Planning Director focused on evaluating new business initiatives and acquisition opportunities for the retail and commercial banking businesses.

In addition to serving on the boards of Welcome America, Inc., GuideStar and Box.org, Dalila is a member of the Executive Leadership Council. She previously served as a member of the Committee for Economic Development, and the Advisory Council of My Brother’s Keeper Alliance. Dalila has been named one of the “Most Influential Blacks in Corporate America” by Savoy Magazine and an “Innovative Rising Star: Building Communities” by Forbes magazine. She has also been a featured speaker at several forums highlighting impact and innovation in philanthropy, including at the Aspen Ideas Festival, Social Innovation Summit, USC Center on Philanthropy and Public Policy and the Women’s Philanthropy Institute’s Annual Symposium. She earned an MBA in Finance and Management from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business and a B.A. in Economics from New York University’s College of Arts and Science.

Marge Jackson

Marge Jackson is the National Senior Vice President Call Center Sales for Comcast HQ Sales and Marketing team. Marge has oversight for sales strategy for more than 3k Inbound sales agents, handling over 12 million calls annually across 16+ call centers. Marge is responsible for setting the strategic vision to deliver a superior customer sales experience, build customer loyalty, and drive sales growth and revenue through people, processes, tools, and technology. Specifically, Marge partners with divisions and region leaders to align customer and sales strategies with corporate goals and drives major initiatives across the enterprise.
In her previous role, Marge Jackson was Vice President Customer Care Sales & Retention West Division. In this role, she had oversight for customer experience sales and loyalty strategy. Marge was responsible for the development of a unified sales and retention strategy. Her primary focus was on centralizing and standardizing compensation plans, call routing strategies, scorecard performance metrics, and agent development.

Marge joined Comcast in 1998 as a direct sales representative for Comcast Online and went on to hold a host of positions in the field across all 3 divisions with increasing responsibility.

Marge continues to be recognized by peers and colleagues as an industry leader and top woman/minority in business. She was named to Multichannel News’ “40 Under 40” list, Most Influential Leaders and was honored by NJ Biz as one of its "50 Best Women in Business.” Jackson was one of only 30 candidates selected for the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communication’s (NAMIC) Executive Leadership Development Program, was a recipient of NAMIC’s “Next Generation Leaders” award and was selected as one of CableFax’s “Most Powerful Woman in Cable.” Jackson is also a graduate of the Comcast Executive Leadership Forum (ELF), an active member of CTAM and WICT, a graduate of WICT’s prestigious Betsy Magness Leadership Institute as a Class of XVII fellow, a graduate of the Comcast Woman Leadership program at Wharton University, and most recently a graduate of the CTAM Executive Program at Harvard University.

Rodney W. Hawkins II is a three time Emmy-nominated producer for CBS National News producing stories across the country. His latest breaking-news assignments have taken him to Puerto Rico to cover the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, the border of Mexico to cover the immigration crisis and several other locations to report on natural disasters and tragic mass shootings for CBS This Morning and CBS Evening News. Rodney was formerly an associate producer based in New York for CBS This Morning where he produced feature, breaking and live news coverage for the broadcast. He also has prior experience as a digital journalist traveling the world for all CBS platforms and as a campaign embed reporter covering Vice President Joe Biden and the Republican primary and caucuses during the 2012 presidential election. Rodney graduated from Howard University with a degree in journalism and a minor in political science. He worked virtually throughout his college career, spending his semesters at the Washington Bureau of CBS News, Fox News Channel, and WHUT- PBS, and his summers as an Emma Bowen fellow at Fox 7 KTBC in Austin, Texas. Currently, Rodney lives in Dallas, Texas with his wife where he serves as a Big Brother, Big Sister mentor and the Howard University Alumni Club of Dallas Fort Worth President.

Niija Kuykendall is the Executive Vice President of Production at Warner Bros. Pictures where she is in post-production on the film JUST MERCY starring Michael B. Jordan. In her time at Warner Bros., Kuykendall has overseen the production of movies such as the recently released, THE SUN IS ALSO A STAR, A STAR IS BORN, Stephen King’s IT, KONG: SKULL ISLAND, Guy Ritchie’s KING ARTHUR, EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING as well as MAGIC MIKE 1 & 2, EDGE OF TOMORROW, ARGO, and CONTAGION.

Kuykendall is a graduate of Brown University and began her career as EBF intern at ABC Entertainment in Los Angeles, CA, and then graduated to become an Editorial Associate in Corporate Communications for Viacom Inc. in New York City. In 2004, Kuykendall moved home to Los Angeles to work in film as a Development Assistant for Beacon Pictures. She then moved to Twentieth Century Fox as a Feature Film Creative Executive before joining Warner Bros. Pictures in 2008. She is on the boards of Brown University’s Women Leadership Council, and the Emma Bowen Foundation. Kuykendall is also a member of the Executive Branch of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.

Michael Powell

The Honorable Michael K. Powell


Michael K. Powell is the former chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), nominated by President Bill Clinton and sworn in on November 3, 1997. He served as a member of the FCC for eight years during which time he was designated its chair by President George W. Bush in January 2001 and continued in that capacity until April 2005.

During his time as FCC chair, Chairman Powell oversaw the rapid transformation of communications markets into the Digital Age. During his tenure, the Internet came into widespread commercial use, as did smart phones, Wi-Fi networks and satellite radio.

In his current role as President & CEO of NCTA – The Internet & Television Association,
Mr. Powell leads one of the largest trade associations in Washington, D.C., representing the communications and content industries. Prior public service includes Chief of Staff of the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice, Policy Advisor to the Secretary of Defense and service as an armored cavalry officer in U.S. Army. In the private sector he practiced law and was a senior advisor in a private equity firm. Chairman Powell also served on the boards of Cisco and AOL.

Chairman Powell serves on several nonprofit boards, including the Mayo Clinic, The William and Mary Foundation, the National Archives Foundation and America’s Promise Alliance. At America’s Promise, he co-chairs the Grad Nation project, an effort to address the high school dropout crisis.

Powell received his bachelor’s degree in government from the College of William and Mary and also holds an honorary doctorate from the College. He also served as Rector of the school’s Board of Visitors. He received his JD from Georgetown University Law Center.

He previously wrote for S&P Global Market Intelligence and, prior to that, was an analyst at the Federal Reserve. Brian graduated from Syracuse University in 2015 and spent three summers at NBCUniversal as an Emma Bowen fellow.

Elise Yancey recently accepted a role as the Media Research & Strategy Manager for Spectrum Networks, where she will manage a team of TV and digital audience insights analysts across all of Spectrum's local news and sports stations.

Throughout all of her professional experiences, Elise’s goal has been to connect audiences to relevant and engaging content in an increasingly fragmented media landscape.

Before transitioning to Spectrum, Elise participated in Nielsen’s Emerging Leader Program. She started her career on Comcast Cable’s Marketing Business Intelligence & Strategy team upon finalizing her final summer with the Emma Bowen Foundation. She graduated from Boston University with a B.S. in Mass Communication and Minor in French.

Jourdan Henry is a Product Manager on the Digital Product Leadership team at Nielsen. In this role, he defines new concepts and features for Digital Content Ratings, a measurement solution for audience consumption of content across digital platforms. Prior to his current position, he spent two years in Nielsen’s Emerging Leaders Program where he held a variety of roles across client service, media analytics and product leadership. Jourdan graduated with a B.A. in Journalism from Howard University and currently resides in New York, NY.

Kathleen Finch

Kathleen Finch is Chief Lifestyle Brands Officer at Discovery, where she oversees the management oversight of HGTV, Food Network, TLC, ID, Travel Channel, DIY Network, Cooking Channel, Discovery Life, American Heroes Channel, Destination America, Great American Country and the company’s Digital Studios Group in the U.S. Previously, Finch was Chief Programming, Content & Brand Officer for all six Scripps Networks including all linear and digital media brands. She was promoted to this position in August of 2015 after serving as President of HGTV, DIY Network and Great American Country.

During her tenure as President of the three Home Category brands, Finch led the networks to record ratings and revenues. She launched such notable talent-driven series as Fixer Upper, Flip or Flop, Ellen’s Design Challenge featuring Ellen DeGeneres, The Property Brothers, Love It or List It, The Vanilla Ice Project and DIY Network Blog Cabin, the first ever interactive home renovation series produced on-air and online. Before joining HGTV, Finch spent seven years at the Food Network as Senior Vice President of Primetime Programming where she introduced long-running series such as Unwrapped, Food Network Challenge and Ace of Cakes.

Prior to joining Scripps Networks in 1999, Finch was a journalist working in both broadcast and print. She spent 12 years as a CBS Network News producer, traveling the world to cover breaking news and events in locations such as Cuba and the UK. Mark Thompson became president and chief executive officer of The New York Times Company on November 12, 2012. He is responsible for leading the company’s strategy, operations and business units.
Mr. Thompson has been instrumental in accelerating the pace of The Times’s digital transformation. Under his leadership, The Times became the first news organization in the world to pass the one million digital-only subscription mark. The company has also introduced a new era of international growth, launched an industry-leading branded content studio and invested in virtual reality, producing some of the most celebrated work in this emerging medium.

Before joining the Times Company, Mr. Thompson served as director-general of the BBC from 2004, where he reshaped the organization to meet the challenge of the digital age, ensuring that it remained a leading innovator with the launch of services such as the BBC iPlayer. He also oversaw a transformation of the BBC itself, driving productivity and efficiency through the introduction of new technologies and bold organizational redesign.

Mr. Thompson joined the BBC in 1979 as a production trainee. He helped launch “Watchdog” and “Breakfast Time,” was an output editor on “Newsnight,” and was appointed editor of the “Nine O’Clock News” in 1988 and of “Panorama” in 1990. He became controller (programming and scheduling chief) for the TV network BBC2 and director of television for the BBC before leaving the BBC in 2002 to become C.E.O. of Channel 4 Television Corporation in the United Kingdom.

In the autumn of 2012, he was a visiting professor of Rhetoric and the art of public persuasion at the University of Oxford. His book “Enough Said: What’s Gone Wrong with the Language of Politics?,” which is based on the lectures he gave at Oxford, was published in the U.K. and U.S. in September 2016.

He was also one of the founders of HBO’s businesses in Latin America, Asia and Europe.

Zitter was inducted into The Cable Television Hall of Fame and the Satellite Industry Hall of Fame and is also a recipient of the NCTA’s Vanguard Award. He served on the FCC’s Technology Advisory Council and has been a director of The North American Broadcasters Association.

Earlier he was a broadcaster with the ABC Television Network and an executive with cable operator/broadcaster, Schurz Communications. He directed television programs while serving in the US Army.

When Keesha is not on the corporate stage she enjoys mentoring young women, being on the advisory board for Geenie Box and being a member at large of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and of the Philadelphia Chapter of The Links, Incorporated.

Roz Abrams

Broadcast journalist Roslyn Maria “Roz” Abrams was born on September 7, 1948 in Lansing, Michigan. She received her B.S. degree in sociology from Western Michigan University, and her M.S. degree in speech from the University of Michigan.

Abrams worked first as a reporter for WJIM in Lansing, Michigan, and then as an anchor and reporter for WSB-AM radio from 1975 to 1978. She went on to work as a news reporter/anchor at WXIA-TV in Atlanta, Georgia from 1978 to 1982, at CNN from 1982 to 1983, and at KRON-TV in San Francisco, California from 1983 to 1986. In 1986, Abrams joined WABC-TV in New York City, first as weekend anchor and general assignment reporter, and later as co-anchor of Eyewitness News at 5 p.m. She was the first African American female journalist to join WABC-TV, and the second anchorwoman of color in the New York City television market. While there, Abrams covered a number of major stories and events, including the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001; the blackout of 2003; the end of apartheid in South Africa; and the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. She left WABC-TV in 2003; and, in 2004, was hired by New York City’s WCBS-TV as the co-anchor of CBS2 News at 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. Abrams left WCBS-TV in 2006 and retired from journalism in 2010.

Abrams was the first African American vice president of the Atlanta Press Club. She has served on the editorial advisory board of “Making Waves,” a quarterly publication of American Women in Radio and Television. Abrams served as an advisory board member for the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, where she also funds a scholarship program. In addition, she has served on the board of Women in Film and the New York City Police Athletic League, and as co-chair of New York Reads Together and CAUSE-NY.

Abrams received a New York Association of Black Journalists Award for the special "The Sounds of Harlem," and received the Ed Bradley Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008. She won a local Emmy in 2004 and a Gracie Award in 2006. She was also awarded an honorary doctorate of humane letters from the New York Institute of Technology, and has been named a news legend by the Friars Club. In 2013, Abrams received the Elinor Guggenheimer Lifetime Achievement Award from New York Women’s Agenda.

Emma Awards
